BARRETT Desiring to follow the example of his veteran heroes, George H. Barrett enlisted with the United States Air Force, serving as a first sergeant at the Randolph Air Force Base in Texas and Keflavik, Iceland. For 24 years, he excelled as a chief master sergeant E-9 and security police superintendent. He was subsequently granted a 1979 Meritorious Service Medal, 1971 Bronze Star and 1968 Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters. In 2004, he notably received a Distinguished Service Medal from the Governor of Texas. Outside of his military career, Mr. Barrett was mayor pro tem of Kennedale, Texas, from 1994 to 2007, legislator from 2013 to 2015 and long-term care ombudsman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services from 2014 to 2016. He also taught at Arlington High School and the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps Headquarters between 1985 and 2009, and was a reserve patrolman at the Cibolo Police Department, among other roles. Mr. Barrett received a BS in workforce management from Trinity University and an MA in Christian counseling from Liberty University. He previously served as a Christian counselor for the Veteran’s Administration. Initially working in the finance industry, Dorothy Elizabeth Ebert began her tenure with local government in 1967 as the deputy county clerk of Dodge County in Juneau, Wisconsin. After her predecessor retired, she began serving as county clerk in 1983 – a position for which she was continually re-elected until her retirement in 2003. Accruing 45 years of overall vocational experience, Ms. Ebert was celebrated with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Possessing certificates in professional development and public management essentials, Ms. Ebert previously served on the board of directors of the Dodge County chapter of the American Cancer Society and volunteered with church services at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Notably, she maintained affiliation with the Wisconsin County Clerks Association, for whom she served as a historian, treasurer, secretary, vice president and president. Featured inWho’s Who in theWorld, Who’s Who of AmericanWomen and Who’s Who in the Midwest, Ms. Ebert cites being re-elected on her first campaign to be a career highlight.
