Eisen is a distinguished medical director, cardiologist and educator who has accrued nearly 40 years of experience in his fields. A professor of medicine at Pennsylvania State University since 2018, he concurrently works with the university’s Hershey Medical Center as the director of diagnostic cardiology and themedical director of the Cardiac Transplant, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Advanced Heart Failure Programs. Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Eisen served the Drexel University College of Medicine as director of the Drexel Center for Cardiovascular Disorders and chief of the Division of Cardiology between 2004 and 2018. In addition, he worked for the Temple University School of Medicine as the director of the Advanced Heart Failure Center, medical director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Program, director of the heart failure ICU and medical director of the Cardiac Transplant Program between 1993 and 2004. Likewise, he held prior appointments at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He completed his internship and residency in medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in cardiology at the Washington University in St. Louis. Furthermore, Dr. Eisen has been a visiting professor nationally and internationally, as well as a fellow of the American Heart Association, American College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology. Notably, he is a founding member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and served as a University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine representative and Eastern councilor for the American Federation for Clinical Research. In light of his outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Eisenwas elected amember of the Association of University Cardiologists in 2019, has been listed as a SuperDoctor since 2012 and was named one of 27 individuals nationally to the Forbes Cardiologists Honor Roll in 2017. Honorably, he has been featured in Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in America since 1998 and in Philadelphia Magazine as a Top Doctor since 1996, among several other accolades.
