A native of Taiwan, Mr. Chen began his professional career as a mathematics teacher at Tailin Junior High School in 1961. Subsequently, he went on to teach at Pekung Senior High School, Taichung First Senior High School and Tainan Pharmacy University. Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1979, he was a student of graduate school at Tokyo University of Education. He also served the People-to-People Ambassador Programbetween 2007 and 2010 as amathematics education delegate in such countries as Egypt, Vietnam, Cambodia, China and India. To prepare for his career, Mr. Chen pursued a formal education at National Taiwan Normal University, obtaining a BS in 1968. Receiving an MEd from Tokyo University of Education nine years later, he had continued postgraduate studies at the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin. Shortly thereafter, he earned an AGS from the University of Maryland at College Park. Mr. Chen ismost renowned for his development of the “NewTheoryof Trisection” tosolve themost controversial trisection problem in the history of mathematics in 2,600 years. Additionally, he has conducted research in the theory of trisection as it applies to construct a regular polygon, such as triangles, pentagons, octagons and others, as well as research in the theory of trisection within the universe, drawing upon the rotational forces of the planets. He authored “Elementary Calculus” in 1972, “New Theory of Trisection” in 1999 and “Regular Polygons” in 2001, with the second volume in 2009. Mr. Chen maintains affiliation with the Kyo-DaiKen Mathematics Education Research Group, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, AmericanMathematics Society andMathematics Association of America. FenChen is an eminentmathematician and mathematics educator who accrued over 55 years of experience in academia prior to his retirement in 2017.
