During this time, she developed numerous simulation programs and also thrived as an advisor. As time progressed, Ms. Beckmann transferred her skills to an engineering capacity at Humble Oil and Refining Co., until it was rebranded as Exxon in 1972. During the company’s several transitions and rebranding efforts, Ms. Beckmann remained steadfast in her mission and dedication to her work. In 1999, Exxon experienced a merger and was reinvented as ExxonMobil. Recently, Ms. Beckmann celebrated her 60th work anniversary with the company in 2021 and looks forward to working in the oil, refining, engineering and energy sectors for as long as she is able to do so. In her current role as a senior economic advisor, she focuses her efforts on planning and optimization, as well as mentoring the emerging engineers and software professionals. Prior to delving into her career, Ms. Beckmann attended the University of Mississippi, earning a BS in chemical engineering in 1961. During her collegiate studies, she was the first female engineering graduate from the university and, later on, she was recognized by the university with their Distinguished Alumni Award. To remain aware of ongoing changes in her field, she maintains membership with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. For her success, Ms. Beckmann was named among theTop10Peopleby theAmericanBusiness Women’s Association and a Trailblazer Award from the YWCA. She is a member of the United Way and the Quota Club. In her spare time, she dedicates herself to her local church, where she previously served as a board treasurer and administrator. She presently resides in Baton Rouge.
