Using her social media platforms as the foundation of her advocacy, she addresses such topics as mental illness, abandonment and dysfunctional family relationships, as well as offers webinars based upon her memoir, “The Journey Home.” Notably, Dr. Pisani has been a featured guest on radio and television interviews, where she discusses mental health and healthy coping mechanisms. Civically engaged as well, she has participated in missionary trips to Nicaragua, where she constructed an orphanage with her church. She further established a school in Nigeria, and has been sponsoring a Kenyan child since they were 5 years old, who will now be attending college. Dr. Pisani was recognized with a street named in her honor, Dr. Pisani Way, by her local school district. She also received the We Are One Award. Finding refuge in her academic endeavors and within the school system, Dr. Loriellen Pisani also leveraged her faith in God to help her find her path in life. Eventually deciding to delve into the field of education to guide students much like herself while she was growing up, Dr. Pisani received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985, a master’s degree in counseling and human development fromLong Island University in 1994, and a doctorate in modern psychoanalysis and psychotherapy from the International University for Graduate Studies in 1998. She later earned a Specialist Diploma in school administration and supervision from Queens College in 2002. During and following her own edification, Dr. Pisani found considerable success as a teacher in early elementary education for more than 30 years, where she also briefly excelled as an assistant principal.
