Civically involved as well, Ms. Kadoya has volunteered for Oceana and Japanese associations, and previously served in an internship with the Small Business Development Center. She attributes her immense success to the integration of energy that exists between her husband, Chef Soichi, and herself, which has served as a testament to the restaurant’s prestige in San Diego. As a testament to the restaurant’s success, Soichi was honored with the Clean Business Award by the City of Chula Vista and was named #9 Places to Eat in the Nation by Yelp. Additionally, the restaurant was named #1 Place for Takeout in the State of California by Yelp, and Ms. Kadoya herself was featured on television for her efforts with Oceana. Looking forward, Ms. Kadoya intends to build the restaurant’s brand, as well as open a smaller, more intimate restaurant. Always possessing an interest in working with individuals, Raechel N. Kadoya grew up watching her parents own separate businesses. Learning the intricacies of handling customers from her mother, she leveraged these experiences to pursue her own entrepreneurial journey with Soichi. Since 2018, Ms. Kadoya has served as a general manager of Soichi, an authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant located in SanDiego, California. Headed by Chef Soichi, the restaurant prepares Japanese delicacies with exquisite tastes and presentation, customized for each guest who enters the restaurant’s doors. Notably, Soichi is open and available for myriad occasions, from entertaining guests and celebrating milestones to hosting a romantic evening with a partner. To prepare for her career, Ms. Kadoya pursued a formal education at the University of Maryland, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Japanese studies in 1997. After spending time in Japan as a street performer and an English as a Second Language instructor for the Miura Board of Education, she became an independent associate of Usana Health Sciences in 2012 – a role she still RAECHEL N.
