388 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION F or decades, Judge Glynn F. Voisin has demonstrated his belief that service should come before self. An interest in law and a love for his country have grown into careers through which he could actively serve a community to which he felt so tied. While Judge Voisin has spent the last 14 years presiding over timely hearings and decisions, it has also been his job to rule on preliminary motions, conduct pre-hearing conferences, issue subpoenas, and handle oral and documentary evidence. Following his graduation from Nicholls State University in 1970, Judge Voisin received a JD with honors from the Tulane University School of Law in 1977. A host of leadership positions within the law field followed, including affiliations with the American Bar Association, the Association of Administrative Law Judges, and the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates. Prior to attaining his administrative judiciary role, Judge Voisin served for 28 years in the United States Marine Corps, including four years of active duty and 24 years of reserve duty. He looks back on his time in the Marine Corps with fondness, noting that being commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer and filling related leadership positions have been some of the major highlights of his military career. His time serving in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm earned him two Presidential Certificates of Appreciation for Service in the Armed Forces of the United States, as well as a Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star, a Cold War Medal, and a Cold War Certificate of Recognition, among others. Judge Voisin holds practicing certifications through the Louisiana State Bar Association, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Military Appeals. He has been an AV Preeminent peer-reviewed lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell since 2013. While he may maintain his role as a federal administrative law judge in regular or senior status, Judge Voisin is also considering retiring, teaching, traveling, and spending more time with his family and friends.
