156 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine I nitially desiring to be a college-level European history professor, Neal Richard Stoll instead pursued law as it would provide him greater opportunities. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Arts in history from the Pennsylvania State University and JD from FordhamUniversity, he began his career with then-known Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York in 1973. Beginning at the firm as an associate, he then climbed the ranks to partner by 1981 while the firm changed names to Skadden Arps LLP. He ultimately retired in 2018 after amassing 45 years in the field. A past lecturer at the Practising Law Institute in New York, Mr. Stoll was admitted to practice law in New York, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Among the notable highlights of his career, he cites his litigation success record against the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to be a crowning achievement. He did not lose a single litigation against the Justice Department, and only one loss to the FTC. A contributor of articles to professional publications, Mr. Stoll co-authored the Antitrust and Trade Regulation column for the New York Law Journal from 1981 to 2013. Most proud of work on the merger of Deloitte & Touche, he has always strived to be creative and think outside of the box.
