157 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine W illiam F. Wilder, Esq., is a prominent attorney who has amassed 55 years in the legal industry. Commencing his career as a U.S. Navy serviceman on active and reserve duty, he was soon inspired by his grandfather and uncle, who were both lawyers. Convinced that he could lead a better life in the field of law, he parted from the military and attended the University of Arizona, receiving a BBA in 1962 and LLB in 1964. He was admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona soon thereafter, and began his tenure as an attorney with Ryley Carlock & Applewhite in Phoenix. Mr. Wilder practices in the areas of public finance, corporate and securities law, real estate, probate and estate planning, and representation of corporate fiduciaries. Mr. Wilder served as the firm’s initial managing shareholder starting in 1988. During his tenure with the firm, he has represented public entities and served as counsel to issuers, underwriters, indenture trustees, borrowing entities, and as bond counsel with public financing transactions. Alongside his primary responsibilities, he also enjoys serving on boards of nonprofit corporations, including as trustee of The Desert Botanical Garden, director of the Phoenix Community Alliance, and director of Audubon Arizona. He also maintains affiliation with the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Arizona and Maricopa County Bar Associations, and the Arizona Bar Foundation, where he is a founding fellow. To share his breadth of knowledge with the legal community, Mr. Wilder is a frequent lecturer at legal and continuing education seminars and programs. As a testament to his success and longevity in the field, he has been AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, was listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and was named to Legal Leaders’ Top Rated Lawyer List. He was also featured in the 2019 edition of Who’s Who in America. However, he is most proud of being selected as Lawyer of the Year for public finance.
