She enjoys harvesting orchids and cooking in her spare time. CURATOR, LEPIDOPTERIST University of Florida McGuire Center Gainesville, FL W hen he was a teenager, Dr. Jonas Tillman Holdeman Jr. obtained an amateur radio license, which prompted his intrigue in electronics and physics. Though he was interested in disassembling and reassembling electronics, he soon transformed his curiosity about physics into a desire to learn about astronomy. He commenced his career as a staff member at the Los Alamos Science Laboratory, followed by positions as a research associate at Michigan State University and associate professor of physics at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He later served Oak Ridge National Laboratory as group leader in the computer science division and was a proprietor and principal investigator for Obelisk Research, where he conducted research in intercultural property development and computational fluid dynamics. Since his retirement in 2011, he has served as an independent researcher in computation fluid dynamics. During his career, Dr. Holdeman maintained affiliation with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society of Industrial AppliedMathematics and the American Physical Society. The recipient of a BS, MS and PhD, he was subsequently highlighted in the 66th edition of Who’s Who in America, which was published in 2011. INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER Knoxville, TN JACQUELINE Y.
