159 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine L awrence E. Bechler is an attorney who has served as a shareholder and co-chair of the municipal law practice group at Murphy Desmond S.C. since 1993. With an emphasis on municipal, probate and property tax law, he has extensive experience representing governments and citizens in land use, subdivision, zoning, property tax and economic development law. He also has expertise in environmental law, real estate and fiduciary litigation. The recipient of a BA and MA from The Ohio State University, Mr. Bechler obtained a JD from the University of Wisconsin in 1977 before being admitted to practice law in Wisconsin, as well as before multiple district and appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. A fellow of the Wisconsin Bar Foundation and lifetime fellow of the American Bar Foundation, he has taught several classes and seminars in his areas of expertise. Since his retirement from law, he has lectured extensively at various universities throughout Europe. Since 2015, Mr. Adams has served Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C., as director. A nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Sister Cities seeks to promote peace and cooperation through individuals in sister cities, counties and states in the United States. After establishing the Cincinnati-Munich affiliation in 1989, he was bestowed with the German-American Friendship Award from Germany in 2016.
