214 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine Force as a minority female. Enjoying her military experiences, she is grateful to have worked with cadets and senior officers. Alongside her military endeavors, Lt. Col. Uzzell- Baggett isa formercollegestudent servicesdirector at the Career Development Center at Tennessee State University. She has also dedicated her time to numerous community programs, serving as a boardmember of the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Military Officers Association of America since 2012. She has also been a memorial volunteer for Women in Military Service since 1993. In light of her outstanding achievements, Lt. Col. Uzzell-Baggett has received a number of military service medals and commendation medals. She also earned a Defense Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster. Incredibly proud of her children and stepchildren – many of whom went on to serve in the military as well – Lt. Col. Uzzell- Baggett enjoys running, weightlifting, sewing and gardening in her spare time. P roud of her military service, Lt. Col. Karon L. Uzzell-Baggett wanted to serve her nation due to the influence of her father, who was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force in 1986, Lt. Col. Uzzell-Baggett served as an executive officer at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, for two years before being relocated to Turkey as an operations training officer. During her service with the Air Force, she escalated to higher positions at such locations as Germany, Italy and Afghanistan, as well as various bases in Maryland, Texas and Georgia. From2004 to 2008, she was the director of personnel at Air University and Maxwell Air Force Base, having subsequently served as a commander of the Air Force ROTC at Tennessee State University until her military retirement in 2011. She attained the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2002. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Lt. Col. Uzzell-Baggett obtained a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in 2019. She is most proud of her doctoral studies, as well as being able to command several units in the Air LT. COL.
