307 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Laboratory in Washington, DC, from 1973 to 1990, simultaneously serving as a visiting research professor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, from 1980 to 1981. At the inception of his career in 1968, he was a postdoctoral fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and National Research Council at the Naval Research Laboratory for two years. Shortly thereafter, he briefly served as a physicist at the Smithsonian Radiation Biology Laboratory in Rockville, Maryland. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in physics from Rockhurst College and PhD in physics from St. Louis University, Dr. Jeck holds several patents in his field for a calibration device for optical particle size spectrometers and automatic directional control for wind-following rotors. He is also the author of numerous technical research reports and papers published in refereed journals. Developing the modern theory and practice of analyzing cloud microphysical measurements for aircraft icing purposes, he notes that his greatest achievements include his long collection of data used in the aviation industry, and having results from his work that were practical, important and beneficial to the country and needs of the world. Dr. Jeck maintains affiliation with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the American Meteorological Society and SAE International. Attributing his success to his many mentors who ignited his interest in physics, he has been happily married to his wife Marylin Sebasky for many years. He is also the proud father of two children, Michael and Julie, and grandfather of six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys model railroading and genealogy. Dr. Jeck was born in Iola, Kansas, and currently resides in Tucson, Arizona. D r. Richard K. Jeck is a distinguished physicist who most recently served the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, as a research meteorologist for 20 years from 1990 to 2010. Prior to this engagement, he was a physicist at the Naval Research RICHARD K. JECK, PHD PHYSICIST, RESEARCH METEOROLOGIST (RETIRED) FAA Technical Center Tucson, AZ
