Hill Financial Advisors was established soon after in 1983, and later in 1992 with additional professional education, Mr. Hill founded Professional Financial Strategies, Inc., serving as president and later CEO. Professional Financial was among the first independent investment advisors to provide planning and management for affluent and aspiring families for a fee. The firm employs a distinctive process derived from financial and actuarial science for investing money, mitigating taxes, protecting assets, preserving wealth and charitable giving. Mr. Hill is also a Wealth Management Certified ProfessionalTM and Retirement Income Certified ProfessionalTM. He co-authored “Retire Abundantly,” and publishes “Planning Perspectives.” He and his firm have been written about in Fortune, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Money. Reuters AdvisePoint in 2007 recognized Mr. Hill as one of 500 “Top Advisers” and prominently featured him in their website. He was presented the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Hill received a BA in English, with distinction, from the University of Rochester in 1974, and later an MBA in finance from its Simon School of Business in 1989. He earned an MS in financial services from The American College in 1988 following his Chartered Financial Consultant designation, and then an MS in financial planning from the College for Financial Planning (now the University of Phoenix) in 1997. The College for Financial Planning appointed him as adjunct faculty, teaching at St. John Fisher College. Mr. Hill and his wife are strongly involved in charitable organizations such as The Partnership Foundation that provides disadvantaged Indian children with schools and scholarships. A lifetime member of Gideons International, Mr. Hill served as chapter president. P aul Byron Hill early in life experienced a family financial crisis after his father was permanently disabled.
