196 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors and executive board member of the Northern New Jersey (NNJ) Boy Scouts of America during the 1990s tomid-2000s. She was a founding board member of the West Bergen Mental Healthcare Foundation. Notably, Ms. Ciannella received the Paul Harris Award in 2010 and was twice the recipient of the Walter D. Head Award from the Park Ridge Rotary Club in 2011 and 2013. She received the Silver Beaver Award from the NNJ Boys Scouts of America and the Mission Award from the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors, both in 1999. Through the years, the highlight that stood out the most in Ms. Ciannella’s career was working with Congresswoman Marge Roukema. Under the mentorship of Ms. Roukema, through hard work over time, Ms. Ciannella earned the respect and professionalism to which she aspired from her community and her government service. A s a young girl, Joeen Moore Ciannella was fascinated by the election process in her town. Later in her college years, she became interested in the regulations that dictate how laws are created. In 1970, Ms. Ciannella received a BA in French fromDenison University and then headed to Washington, D.C., to work on government reform in the U.S. Senate. From 1971 to 1975, Ms. Ciannella was a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee. From the 1980s to 1991, now living in New Jersey and raising two young children, she opened a floral business, Jo- Moore SophisticatedCountry, inPark Ridge. From 1985 to 2002, she became the district director for Congresswoman Margaret “Marge” Roukema of the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2006 to 2009, she was elected councilwoman for Park Ridge. Today, she serves as the senior executive assistant at PERMA and owns JTB Enterprises LLC, a landscape design company. Over the years, she has worked as executive director for The Hermitage, a National Historic Landmark museum, and director of development for the Helen Hayes Theater. Ms. Ciannella is a member of the Park Ridge Rotary Club, serving as president from 2012 to 2013.
