EVANS FOUNDER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Center for Global Reasoning Evergreen, CO ENTREPRENEURS T hrough a small spray-painting business, David L. Evans was able to pay for his college education and invest in the stock market, as well as gain early entrepreneurial skills. Mr. Evans received a BS from Iowa State University in 1964 and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1966. Directly out of college, Mr. Evans was recruited by the John Deere Company, where he served for 25 years in various management positions, including director of finance and vice president and general manager of John Deere Information Systems (JDIS). JDIS provided computer systems for dealers and communication links to their technology systems. This dramatically changed the way business was conducted prior to the Internet. After retirement from John Deere, Mr. Evans worked in China as a consultant for Deere. Later, he served as vice president and chief financial officer for two Internet service providers, including Rocky Mountain Internet. Mr. Evans has served on the board of directors of two public corporations: Pearl Mutual Funds and Data Transmission Network Corporation. He also chaired the audit committee for both boards. He is currently serving on the boards of two semi- public corporations: John Deere Receivables, Inc., and John Deere Receivables LLC. In addition, Mr. Evans is the managing director for Rose Creek Ridge LLC and Evans Bros LLC. Mr. Evans has also served on the boards of five non-profit organizations, including the World Federalists Association, Campaign for UN Reform, Quad Cities World Affairs Council, World Denver and Colorado Foothills World Affairs Council. In addition, Mr. Evans created the Center for Global Reasoning in 2015. The Center for Global Reasoning focuses research on the major issues facing civilization. This includes how the United States should prepare for 2050 when China’s GDP is double that of the United States, and their defense department is twice the size of the U.S. Defense Department. His granddaughter, Hannah, also works part-time with him on the Center for Global Reasoning.
