Haskett felt that he was not using his abilities to their full potential and, at his wife’s recommendation, began looking into a career in financial services due to his skill with numbers. Mr. Haskett received a Bachelor of Business Administration in business, management, marketing and related support services from Clemson University in 1994, and used this background to fuel his career as a wealth advisor. Since 2007, Mr. Haskett has been the founder and chief executive officer of Cornerstone Wealth Advisory Group in North Charleston, South Carolina, which offers low rates for life and health insurance and generous returns on safe investment strategies. Mr. Haskett has also been an executive counsel for American Senior Benefits since 2013 and a regional manager with Universal American from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, he was a branch manager for Bankers Life and Casualty from 2004 to 2007 and for ING from 1999 to 2004. The author of “Baby Boomers Are Demanding More from Their Financial Advisors,” Mr. Haskett is a featured author for the prestigious publications Bloomberg Businessweek, Fortune and Money. He is also a supporter of the Dorchester 2 Foundation and Miracle League of North Charleston. He was the recipient of the Large Business Torch Award for Ethics by the Better Business Bureau in 2017, and he attributes his success to his great team that each day focuses on working hard for their clients and who emit great energy into the workplace. Additionally, Mr. Haskett recognizes his grandfather, a successful Greek immigrant business owner, for showing him the importance of perseverance and grit. In five years’ time, Mr. Haskett wishes to open another 20 branches of his business and continue providing opportunities for others to expand in the wealth advisement industry. Additionally, he also hopes to welcome his son into the family business, providing greater success to him and his family.
