220 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine E arly on, Dr. Cynthia Jeanne Mothersole studied continental philosophy, first at Vassar College, where she obtained a BA, magna cum laude, in 1973, and at Columbia University, where she obtained an MA in 1976. Appreciating that European romanticism, existentialism and phenomenology provided the foundation for modern theories of psychoanalysis, she pursued an altruistic profession as a psychoanalyst and psychologist. She obtained an MA in 1993 and a PhD in 1998, both in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Since 1999, Dr. Mothersole has served as treating physician and training and supervising psychologist at ManagedMed, a psychological corporation that serves the local communities of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Mid-Wilshire Los Angeles. She obtained her license from the California Board of Psy- chology in 2004 and specializes in psycho- analytic psychotherapy to treat depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress, bipolar and personality disorders. Additionally, Dr. Mothersole acts as a Qualified Medical Evalu- ator for the State of California Department of Industrial Medicine, and serves as an expert witness for civil trials, as well as labor and workers compensation arbitrations. Dr. Mothersole is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysts and Psychotherapists, and the California Department of Industrial Medicine. She supports the Vassar College and the Columbia University Alumnae Funds and is a patron of the Saint Matthews Episcopal Music Guild. Dr. Mothersole has dedicated her career to providing treatment for patients and attributes her success to a passion for psychoanalytic theory and practice. When asked her advice, she notes the importance of curiosity about the human condition. She was named a Top Psychologist and Worldwide Leader in Healthcare by the IAHP in 2017.
