144 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Constance N. Knight grew up in an immigrant family in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Her family’s emphasis on hard work and education has guided Dr. Knight throughout her career. In 1970, she earned a bachelor’s degree in geology at Western State College, and in 1973, she received an MS in geology from the University of Arizona. In 1973, she joined the American Oil Company’s Denver office as one of two female geologists among a staff of 80 geologists. Dr. Knight worked as a petroleum geologist during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1991, she joined the Rocky Flats Plant, a former Department of Energy manufacturing complex, as a senior principal environmental engineer. During this employment, she completed a professional degree in hydrogeology and a PhD in geology at the Colorado School of Mines. Dr. Knight is passionate about petroleum exploration and environmental stewardship. She is marketing a large self-generated energy prospect. In recent years, she served as a petroleum-company exploration manager and as a consultant for large and small petroleum companies. She has maintained American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) membership for over 45 years and served on its House of Delegates for over 15 years. She is a three-time past president of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists’ Denver Chapter. She has published technical papers, presented oral and poster conference presentations, and taught technical short courses. In 2013, she was lead editor for the AAPG book, “Series in Geology #65: Application of Structural Methods to Rocky Mountain Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development.” In 1986, Dr. Knight created, tested and sold new geologic teaching materials. In 1987, she sold her copyright to Ward’s Science, who still sells her product. In 2017, she was one of Denver Business Journal’s Top 40 Women in Energy and Who’s Who in Energy. In 2011, she received the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists’ Distinguished Public Service to Earth Science Award.
