226 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine G rowing up in the restaurant business, surrounded by appetizing food, and valuing the importance of family tradition around the dining table, Fawn Racoma was inspired to purse her passion and obtained an Associate of Arts in the culinary arts. In her youth, she witnessed significant illness and began to question the eating habits of the American people, hence guiding her studies within holistic health. In an effort to pool her interests, Ms. Racoma has dedicated her life to healthy eating and lives by the motto “Food is fuel.” Ms. Racoma serves as the owner and chef of Rootz Organic Café & Shop and its sister restaurant, Seedz Organic Café, located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Specializing in fresh, organic and palatable plates, both establishments offer food options for those with dietary restrictions and lifestyles, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto and paleo. While Rootz has been a popular lunch destination since its fruition in 2013, and now offers organic smoothies and juices, Seedz has catered to delectable breakfast meals since its opening in 2017. Notably, Rootz has been given a Local Award for being the Best Vegetarian Restaurant since its inception, with Seedz being honored with Second Placement in the same category. Ms. Racoma attributes the success of her restaurants to the support she receives from her husband and daughter, as well as her own dedication to make strides within her local Steamboat Springs community. In five years’ time, Ms. Racoma hopes to continue watching her businesses flourish, and eventually serve as a consultant in dietary health. She also aspires to continue educating others on the origins of food products in America, how food both positively and negatively affects one’s health, and how to choose healthier and nutritional food in an effort to maintain optimal health. Notably, she is also in the process of writing her first book regarding the health benefits of specific food items. In her spare time, Ms. Racoma enjoys snowboarding, hiking, bicycling, kayaking and tubing in the river. She is the proud mother of one daughter and grandmother of one grandson.
