134 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ROSE MARIE REDMON-HOLLIDAY F rom teaching her little sister alphabet songs on the front porch, Rose Marie Redmon-Holliday knew education was her destiny. Now certified in secondary education in Minnesota, New York, Kentucky and Kansas, she received an AA from Midway Junior College in 1972, BS from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1973 and MS from Emporia State University in 1981. Commencing her career with the Kansas City Public Schools in 1974, Ms. Redmon-Holliday subsequently served as an instructor at the University of Minnesota, Morris and an educator at Folwell Junior High School. From 1983 to 2000, she was an educator at Webster Open School, and a middle school coordinator at the Jordan Park School of Extended Learning from 2000 to 2004. She ended her career teaching mathematics at Christian County High School in 2009. Ms. Redmon-Holliday calls being accepted into the National Youth Leadership Council to be a career highlight. Through a written grant, she and her colleague created a training guide for schools worldwide. She was also proud to present at the San Diego “Schools for the 21st Century” Conference. SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER Christian County High School Murray, KS ARTIST, WRITER, EDUCATOR Quincy College Wareham, MA M ary M. Nyman received a BA from Wheaton College in 1957 and an MA in English literature from Boston University in 1959. She commenced her career in 1959 as a junior high and high school English teacher at Malden Public Schools before teaching English at the collegiate level at Boston University, Fisher College and the University of Massachusetts for 18 years. Additionally, she was a high school English teacher for Wareham Public Schools from 1976 to 1994, concluding her educational career in 1998 at Quincy College as an English instructor and administrator of the Wareham campus. In her academic retirement, Ms. Nyman paints watercolor and acrylic portraits of her favorite areas of Maine and Cape Cod, as well as publishes poetry and articles in literary magazines. She has authored the works “High School Stories,” “When the Leaves Fall” and “The Seasons Edge and Other Poems,” among numerous others. Notably, she received the 2015 Prize for Art Jewelry from the Bourne- Wareham Art Association, the 2009 Mom’s Choice Award from Moms Choice LLC and the 1955 and 1956 Helen Myers Tate Awards.
