LASZLO ZABORSZKY B est known for his research in basal forebrain, Dr. Laszlo Zaborszky has served as a neuroscientist and distinguished professor at Rutgers University for more than 25 years. He is also the editor-in- chief of “Brain Structure and Function” and commenced his teaching career as an associate professor at the University of Virginia. Dr. Zaborszky received his MD in 1969 and PhD in 1981 in his native Hungary at the Semmelweis Medical School, where he graduated fourth in his class of 400 students. In 1999, he achieved a DSc from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Upon the loss of many skilled and dedicated teachers in Hungary during the years of communist rule, Dr. Zaborszky felt lucky to be invited to the United States for work and research opportunities. Dr. Zaborszky is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and served as president of the New York Hungarian Scientific Society. He has been a grantee of the National Institutes Health/National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and he was the recipient of the Rutgers Board of Trustees Award for Research Excellence. He has been a foreign member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2009. NEUROSCIENTIST, DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR Rutgers University Verona, NJ ECONOMIST, EDUCATOR Alabama State University Montgomery, AL I n 1971, Dr. Sontachai Suwanakul received a BA in business administration from Chiang Mai University in his native Thailand, but upon his arrival to the United States, he made a career switch to pursue a career in economics. He achieved an MA in economics from Middle Tennessee State University in 1974 and a PhD in economics from the University of Arkansas in 1986. Additionally, he is certified by the U.S. Business System at the University of Dallas. Dr. Suwanakul commenced his career in 1987 as a visiting assistant economics professor at Mississippi State University. In 1989, he first stepped onto the Alabama State University (ASU) campus, where he still teaches as a senior professor of economics. Over the years, he has served the university as an assistant, associate and full professor of economics. Dr. Suwanakul is recognized for faculty leadership in research and publications within ASU’s College of Business Administration. He was notably listed in the Directory of Research Scholars by Harvard University in 1996.
