221 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATOR, SCIENTIST, CHEMICAL RISK ASSESSOR U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Woodbridge, VA PEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (RETIRED) Reading Hospital and Medical Center Pottstown, PA JOYCE MORRISSEY DONOHUE, PHD S erving the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency since 1996, Dr. Joyce Morrissey Donohue is a noted chemical risk assessor and health scientist who has focused her research on the impact that chemistry, food science and nutrition have on public health. Prior to her tenure with the EPA, she was an educator at such institutions as Northern Virginia Community College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Framingham State University. At the inception of her career in 1962, she was a high school biology and chemistry teacher in Massachusetts. Dr. Donohue holds a BS in food and nutrition from Framingham State University, MS in nutrition research from the University of Massachusetts and PhD in biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire. She is a registered dietitian and seeks to extend her knowledge to students and the public, noting that she tries to clearly communicate the sciences as related to human health and chemistry in layman terms. Dr. Donohue was honored with a Silver Medal and three Gold Medals from the EPA, as well as various scientific and technological achievement awards. She maintains membership with the AAAS and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. M ary Ann Glocker served as a nurse’s aide during high school, and in those moments, she discovered her love for helping others. She earned a diploma from Philadelphia General Hospital in 1961 and a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964. She then went on to serve Philadelphia General Hospital as a nurse. After two decades, she returned to the University of Pennsylvania, earning an MSN in 1986. In 1986, Ms. Glocker was the first nurse practitioner hired at Reading Hospital. She served as a pediatric nurse practitioner there for almost 30 years, retiring in 2015. She was well known for her ongoing quest for continual learning, her dedication to her patients and her compassionate nature. Earlier in her career, she served as a camp nurse. In her retirement, she has been active serving the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities as a volunteer, board member and past president. Ms. Glocker earned the 2012 Nursing Champion of the Year Award, which she cites as a career highlight. She is a fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and enjoys gardening in her spare time. MARY ANN GLOCKER
