Mr. Bolze maintains affiliation with the American Association for the Advancement of Science in an effort to remain abreast of changes in the field, and among his career highlights, he cites obtaining copyrights in the areas of tornado formation, celestial polarity and lightning causation as his crowning achievements. Married for over 50 years, Mr. Bolze is the proud father of six children. He also has eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom have attained great success in their lives. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming and, in his earlier years, gained the title of master swimmer. Notably, he was named among the top 10 swimmers in the nation within his age group. He currently resides in East Setauket, New York. J oe Rockefeller Bolze is a retired metrologist who served the prestigious Grumman Aerospace Company for more than 30 years. Metrology, defined as the scientific study of measurement, is a branch of engineering with duties that include calibrating instrumentation, new tools and systems of measurement; interpreting data; and researching the science of measurement. Acclaimed for his curiosity and excellent work ethic, Mr. Bolze thoroughly enjoyed the process of discovering new ideas and technologies, particularly within the Space Age. He has also enjoyed his expertise in flight test work. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in physics from Manhattan College, Mr. Bolze always enjoyed physics, as well as counting and measuring physics applications.
