285 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT young Mr. Brown was afforded the opportunity to ride on the back of a firetruck during an annual parade, which filled him with immense feelings of pride and joy. Since that time, he aspired to pursue a career in firefighting in order to contribute to his local community. Since 2019, Mr. Brown has served as a paramedic coordinator for the Vallejo Valley Fire Department in California. Comprised of 86 employees, the department is cross-trained with such duties as administration, suppression, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), training and prevention divisions. Notably, the fire department receives approximately 15,000 calls per year and possesses two of the busiest engines in the state of California. As a testament to his achievements, Mr. Brown was named Firefighter and First Responder of the Year in 2016. Supportive of his local community, Mr. Brown has organized several fundraising events advocating for the Solano Napa Firefighters Foundation. Recognized for his incredible efforts, in 2020, he was appointed as president of the Vallejo Firefighters Association. Attributing his immense success to his determination on the job and diligent work ethic, Mr. Brown is notable for putting in extraordinary hours into his profession and being propelled forward by a love for his community. Looking toward the future, Mr. Brown intends to be promoted to suppression captain, noting that in this role, he can be the leader of an engine company. He also desires to reach the position of fire captain within five years’ time. When asked of advice to provide to aspiring firefighters, Mr. Brown says that the profession is challenging, yet rewarding. The most important attribute to hold, however, is a genuine desire to help the community. S upported by an AS in fire technology, Kevin A. Brown is distinguished in his industry, having become a registered State Fire Marshal Instructor in 2019, achieving a paramedic certificate and taking several EMS classes.
