Prior to these appointments, he served the Nuclear Science & Engineering Corporation as vice president and secretary, University of Michigan Law School as associate director of the Atomic Energy Law Research Project and U.S. Atomic Energy Commission as an attorney. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Arts and JD from Yale University, Mr. Wolf was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1957 and Pennsylvania State Bar in 1975. He is often coined the “Father of the Continental Divide Trail,” and he has testified in support of the designation of the Continental Divide Trail at oversight hearings on the National Trails Systems Act of 1968 before the House Subcommittee on National Parks and Recreation. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, he has also authored several articles, papers, essays and book series within his area of expertise. Attributing his success to his interest in natural history and cartography, as well as his diversified background in law and government, Mr. Wolf also boasted an intense interest in the technical and legal aspects of nuclear energy. Notably, he played a key role in writing regulations that governed the issuance of authorization to the U.S. Department of Energy to construct high- level waste facilities in Nevada.
