107 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING began his tenure at Texaco, Inc., where he served as a staff petroleum engineer between 1968 and 1974. Transitioning to chief reservoir engineer at Tesoro Petroleum Corp. in San Antonio and Jakarta, Indonesia, until 1978, he also excelled as a chief petroleum engineer for the Arabian Gulf Oil Co. in Libya, operations manager for Buttes Gas & Oil Co. in Dallas and Argentina, and senior consultant engineer for Dicon International Petroleum in California. A former senior consultant engineer for Nieto & Associates for three years, Mr. Nieto subsequently flourished as an engineering manager for Can. Triton International in Houston and Venezuela, where he was promoted to vice president of engineering projects in 1994 – a role he held until 2001. From 2001 until his retirement in 2014, he served as principal of O&G Engineering inMission Viejo, California. Alongside these pursuits, Mr. Nieto served myriad engineering and petroleum businesses in Algeria, West Africa, Mexico, Korea and Colombia. Previously attending numerous engineering and management schools, seminars and workshops in Texas, Oklahoma, Singapore and Indonesia, Mr. Nieto has maintained membership with the American Institute of Mining, Colombian Engineering and Architecture Society, and Society of Petroleum Engineers, where he was a 25-year member of their executive club. Recognized as a technical writer by a plethora of oil and gas organizations, he has also been affiliated with the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. In 2014, Mr. Nieto published an autobiography titled “Road to Freedom: My Life and Journey from a Third World Country,” detailing his plight from Colombia to the United States and the success of his career. He has been recognized for his writing with awards from oil and gas organizations, including testimonials by individuals in the oil and gas industry. Drawing upon 46 years of experience in engineering, Edward Alfonso Nieto is an expert in petroleum engineering, having traveled across the globe to share his wealth of knowledge.
