114 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Upon receiving a BS in general studies from the University of Rochester in 1963, Raymond M. Mac Donald served with the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1968 with two years of active duty in Vietnam. He holds a Decorated Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and two Air Medals. After his honorable discharge, he achieved an MBA from Florida International University in 1983, and subsequently served as a pilot and flight engineer with Pan American World Airways from 1985 to 1991 and Delta Airlines from 1991 to 2000. Pivoting to an educational role, he served as an adjunct professor of economics at Southern Lake Tahoe Community College for one year. Progressing in his career, Mr. Mac Donald matriculated at the University of Nevada, Reno, earning an MA in economics in 2002 and a BSEE in 2007. Notably, he excelled as an electronics engineer for the U.S. Department of the Navy from 2007 to 2010, and thereafter, spearheaded Sierra Synergistics LLC as owner and chief executive officer. A member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, he currently has patents pending for an electricity saving device and location device. Paddack commenced his career in 1959 as an aeronautical engineer with Boeing inWashington, D.C. Subsequently, he was employed by the Goddard Space Flight Center with NASA in 1961 as an aerospace engineer in the Theoretical Division, and shortly thereafter, ascended the ranks to aerospace engineer of spaceflight projects and chief of the Advanced Missions Analysis Office until resigning in 1995. A former professor and visiting professor at the U.S. Naval Academy between 1995 and 2006, he also served Georgetown University as a visiting professor until his retirement in 2011. Post-retirement, Dr. Paddack has been a docent for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum since 2003. He has further contributed myriad articles to prominent scientific journals, has been featured on radio and podcast interviews, and was a speaker on presentations about YORP, a scientific effect regarding asteroid behavior. Impressively, Dr. Paddack received a 1995 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science and a 1990 Distinguished Service Award from the Catholic University of America.
