128 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Dedicating nearly 30 years to the American Spirit Institute, Richard A. Sells serves as the notable chief executive officer of the school. The American Spirit Institute, founded in Williamsburg, Virginia, is a holistic school that offers a variety of classes and programs that aid in the professional development of its students. With professional schools in massage therapy, esthetics, nail technology and waxing technology, Mr. Sells founded the American Spirit Institute in 1992. Later adding esthetic programs in 1997, he also spearheaded its Peace Hill Retreat Center in 2015. Since its inception, the American Spirit Institute has trained and helped approximately 2,000 individuals from across the globe. Prior to his distinguished role, Mr. Sells served as president of multiple corporations, having previously founded the companies of New Heritage, LifePrime and One World Village. In addition, he is a past board member of the Bradley Home for Children and is a former president of the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and the Brownsville Historical Society. A prolific writer, he has further authored a book and several magazine articles in relation to his industry. The recipient of an Outstanding Young Men of America Award and named to Who’s Who of Community Leaders of America and Leading American Executives, Mr. Sells has guided the American Spirit Institute to receive the Best of Williamsburg Award in the massage therapy category from the U.S. Commerce Association. He attributes his success simply to his desire to help others. Mr. Sells became involved in his profession in light of his passion for education. He received a BS in psychology and an MPA from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as an MDiv from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Previously teaching at the college level, he fostered his love for helping young individuals develop careers of their own. Today, he advises future professionals to follow their passions, commit to their goals and do what makes them happy. Looking toward the future, Mr. Sells intends to develop a program on his recently purchased farm that focuses on healthy living, harmonious relationships and sustainability. RICHARD A.
