166 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Growing up, Dr. Tauqeer Ahmad found that there was a shortage of doctors within his native Pakistan and sought to help individuals with their medical maladies. Graduating fromRawalpindi Medical College with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, he went on to complete his medical residency in Nigeria. Now specializing in family medicine, Dr. Ahmad has been practicing in his field for more than 40 years. First serving as a family physician and surgeon in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, he now works out of New York City with his practice, Tauqeer Ahmad, MD, P.C., along with the Lutheran Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. Notably, he has been practicing medicine in the United States since 2000, having immigrated to the U.S. in 1998. Described by his colleagues as a diligent, hard-working individual, Dr. Ahmad has also practiced medicine and completed missionary work in Nigeria and Guatemala. Additionally, he participates with the program Humanity First, a charitable organization that serves disadvantaged families with medical issues. Dr. Ahmad attributes his success to his faith in God and God’s handiwork, as well as his determination to better the lives of his patients. In order to remain aware of advancements in his industry, he maintains affiliation with the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Diabetes Association. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. In five years’ time, Dr. Ahmad intends to write a textbook regarding family medicine. Looking toward the future, he desires to remain abreast of new technological advances in family medicine and expand his knowledge of the field. Likewise, he would like to experience the continued growth and success of his career. Dr. Ahmad is married to his wife Dr. Ayeyesha Tauqeer. He has two children, Khaula Ala and Zujaja.
