Attending the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Missouri, Dr. Doubek graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in 1959 and went on to open a small retail pharmacy business with his father in 1960, titled Doubek Medical. After several years of working as a retail pharmacist, Mr. Doubek then established a medical supply business in the late 1970s in conjunction with Doubek Medical, as well as a closed pharmacy. Today, his closed pharmacy services retirement homes and nursing facilities, along with the medical supply division often serving hospitals in the region. Semi-retired, Mr. Doubek is recognized as chief executive officer of Doubek Medical. His three children proudly run his businesses: Tom, Dave and Debra. His daughter, Debra, facilitates the closed pharmacy division and his two sons, Tom and Dave, are in charge of the medical supply division. Although he has taken a few steps back from the profession, Mr. Doubek still attends board meetings and excels as chairman of the board. Alongside his primary pursuits, Mr. Doubek has maintained affiliation with the Illinois Pharmacists Association, the National Association of Retail Pharmacy and the Chicago Pharmacists Association (now dissolved). He is a former president of the West Lawn Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, in which he served for two terms in the mid-to-late 1970s. Attributing his success to his diligent work ethic and compassion for the industry, Mr. Doubek has been renowned for putting in more than 12 hours of work per day, thus allowing his business to thrive. Looking toward the future, he intends to watch his family expand his business even further. D uring his high school years, Donald J.
