Ponce desired to continue the family legacy in his own right. Since 1987, he has excelled as the owner of Ponce Construction, a fullservice pool and landscape design and installation company based in Orange County, California. Renowned in the area for their artisanship and customer service, Ponce Construction offers a variety of construction projects including pools, spas, fountains, waterfalls, decks, fire pits, softscapes and walkways, as well as outdoor kitchens and entertainment systems, lighting and sprinkler systems, Roman column cabanas, patio covers and more. In addition, Mr. Ponce designs for Victory Pools, Nuance Construction and Omega Construction, along with freelance work for homeowners. Backed by three years of study at Cerritos College, Mr. Ponce holds a security certificate for security and investigative industries from the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs. Additionally, he has C-8 concrete, C-27 landscaping and C-53 pools and spas classifications, and a home improvement certification from the Contractor’s State License Board. For his professional success, Mr. Ponce was the recipient of a Pool and Landscape Design Award and was named Best of Home Improvement. He attributes his success to the notion of “practice makes perfect,” as well as hard work, a supportive family and persistence to overcome obstacles. He thanks his father for exposing him to the industry from a young age. Presently, Mr. Ponce maintains affiliation with the California Landscape Contractors Association, the Better Business Bureau and the Landscaper’s Association. Likewise, he sits on the board of directors for the Homeowner’s Association. Reflecting on his more than three decades of work, Mr. Ponce recalls his career highlight has been receiving 76 five-star reviews on Google and bringing his initial designs to life in 3D. Alongside his responsibilities in construction, he is a lover of music, having performed with the bands The Flames and Hot Ticket from 1979 to 1985 as a pianist, guitarist and singer. SEAN H.
