Today, Dr. Hall is a sought-after surgeon, educator and motivational speaker. He is frequently invited to speak and moderate at several symposia and medical associations, and received awards for his contributions to surgery, medicine and his community. He has been featured in The New York Times for the Rising Star Award, multiple Top Doctor Awards and, in 2016, was honored with the 40 Under 40 Achievement Award from the Network Journal. He is further profiled in newspapers, television and radio stations. Dr. Hall is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He recently helped start a new bariatric program in Rome, where is offering surgeries for obese patients. Dr. KenethHall II is themedical director of the Hernia Center, Weight Loss Center and Wound Centers at Rome Health. Since 2019, he has been instrumental in bringing minimally invasive general surgical techniques to the forefront of the institution. Additionally, he recently performed some of the first minimally invasive weight loss surgeries ever done at the facility. Dr. Hall received anMD from the Howard University College of Medicine. There, he completed an internship at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he investigated and made recommendations to address disparities in health care. He later underwent a general surgery training program at Stony Brook University Hospital beforecompletingaminimally invasive, roboticand bariatric surgical fellowship at NYU Long Island. At NYU, he was chair of the Committee on Obesity, director of Bariatric Quality Improvement and director of surgical simulations. Dr. Hall developed an early interest inmedicine, owing in part by a book titled “Gifted Hands” by Dr. Ben Carson. Despite a teacher stating he would not amount to anything, he was the only student from that class to pass the high school entrance exams that year at 15 years old.
