Originally trained in classical psychoanalysis, she sought out continued training in other therapeutic techniques to satisfy the needs of her clients. As such, she has met the challenges brought into her practice by carefully incorporating new methodologies based upon scientific research that have proved effective in confronting some of the most complex cases. Currently, Dr. Immoos is a senior psychologist specialist and creates tool kits and diagnostic manuals. She has also developed psychology internship programs and produced 48 two-hour didactic seminars given by supervisors and psychologists. She co-authored the 2015 article, “Reduced Bone Strength and Muscle Force in Women 27 Years After Anorexia Nervosa” in the International Journal of Endocrinology. She holds an MA from the University of Innsbruck and PhD in psychology from the University of Vienna. Utilizing her background in opera singing, Dr. Marilyn Sue Immoos became intrigued by how vocals influenced human emotion. After sharing her operatic voice on stages, she sought to delve into human psychology to further serve others. At the inception of her career in Lanzendorf, Austria, she was a part-time assistant psychotherapist and trainer at the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center while also serving as a part-time managerial psychologist at the Fischhof Institute of Managerial Psychology. In Switzerland, Dr. Immoos was a music therapist at the Psychiatric University Clinic and also founded and directed the Center for the Psychology of Voice in Zürich. She ran a private practice in Zürich until 2003. Dr. Immooshas servedasa freelancevocal coach, composer and conductor of community choirs in Switzerland, Austria and the United States. She first served as a concert singer in Vienna, Austria, before joining the City Theatre in Lucerne, Switzerland, as a mezzo-soprano. Notably, she provided vocal coaching to the children’s choir at the Zurich Opera for over 10 years, and was a vocal coach for the Zurich Symphony Choir for four years.
