Maintaining membership with the American Board of Obstetrics-Gynecology, Dr. Santiago notes that her career has been filled with abounding highlights. Among these highlights, she is especially proud of her devotion to patient care and her involvement in shaping the health care industry. Recently, she joined the Ob-Gyn COVID-19 Task Force to aid in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. To attest to her success, Dr. Santiago was named Resident Teacher of the Year in 2001, alongside several other teaching awards. In 2015, she was named a Washingtonian Top Dog in light of her contributions to women’s health care. Santiago was inspired to enter obstetrics-gynecology by her mother, who specialized in the field. Possessing a great interest in women’s health care from a formative age, she attended Bryn Mawr College and earned a BA in biology in 1995. Subsequently, she matriculated at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, receiving an MD in 1999. To complete her medical training, she served as a resident at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital through Weill Cornell Medicine from 1999 to 2003 prior to obtaining her first physician role with Perfectly Female Women’s Healthcare – a position she held for four years until 2007. Between 2007 and 2014, Dr. Santiago excelled as a physician of Ob-Gyn Associates of Northern Virginia Ltd. Since 2014, she has flourished as a physician through Ob-Gyn Associates of Northern Virginia’s GW Medical Faculty Associates, drawing upon nearly 20 years of expertise in the field.
