62 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION for Black Gay Men in conjunction with the establishment of the College’s Black Male Initiative, where he serves as Steering Committee Chair. In this role, he promoted the procurement of college degrees for Black and Latino male students. In September 2020, he was appointed to the board of advisors for the SUNY Shirley Chisholm Center for Equity Studies. Drawing upon a BS in business management and economics from SUNY Empire State College, Mr. Amparado graduated on the dean’s list in 1988. Civically involved, he has excelled as a consultant for the Siloam Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, New York. He has maintained affiliation as a senior member of the Society for Technical Communication and a member of such organizations as the American Management Association, the American Marketing Association, the Qualitative Research Consultant Association and the International Association of Business Communicators. A communications company executive, Keith D. Amparado recently served as an assistant director in the central information technology division at New York University (NYU) for 18 years, retiring in 2017. As a trained program facilitator, he established and facilitated the Alzheimer’s Caregivers’ Group in 2011 for faculty and staff at the Washington Square campus after years of volunteer speaking engagements, presentations and training sessions for Caring Kind and its predecessor, the Alzheimer’s Association. He created this group immediately following his mother’s passing. Additionally, upon his mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, he had a trust created that enabled her to live comfortably in a premium assisted living facility. Previously, Mr. Amparado served as founder and president of KDA Communications beginning in 1985, concurrently serving as chief market research consultant and technical writer. He served as president and past president of SUNY Empire State College’s Alumni Student Federation Board of Governors from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, he established a scholarship KEITH D.
