Until 2012, when he retired from O’Melveny, he was partner of litigation and chairperson of O’Melveny’s insurance department, which was awarded the Best Insurance Department by Chambers. Mr. Koepff has had a successful career in trials and arbitrations of complex coverage cases on key coverage issues, including numerous London arbitrations and trials in various U.S. states. He has also been successful in appeals, including obtaining major favorable decisions from the New Jersey Supreme Court, the New Jersey Appellate Division, New York Appellate Courts, the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Southern District of New York. Mr. Koepff is a contributing author of many publications, including “Inside the Minds: Steps That Can Be Taken in an Effort to Negotiate Successful Settlements between Key Parties in an Insurance Dispute.” He also published an article in Mealey’s Litigation Report, “An Examination of Policy Language and Public Policy Concerning Insurance Coverage for Fines and Penalties, Restitution and Disgorgement and Civil Liability Arising Out of Criminal Conduct,” and “Use and Legal Effect of Insurance Binders,” published by the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions. An alumnus of Lehigh University, Mr. Koepff received a BA, cum laude, in 1969 and an MBA in economics in 1970. He received a JD at Duke University in 1973. He has been admitted to practice by the New Y ork and New Jersey Bar Associations, among other circuit and district courts. Mr. Koepff is a member of the litigation section and tort and insurance practice section of the American Bar Association. He continues to be recognized by Chambers for outstanding expertise in insurance dispute resolution and is an AV-rated preeminent attorney via Martindale-Hubbell. M r.
