256 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT D rawing upon a JD from Wayne State University, Henry Baskin is a noteworthy family and entertainment law attorney with 50-plus years’ experience. As president of the Baskin Law Firm since 1969, he has represented judges, doctors, lawyers and executives, as well as negotiated broadcasting rights for the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. Impressively, he has also represented such prominent figures as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones, The Who and Barbara Streisand, among other individuals within the sports, media and entertainment industries. Mr. Baskin also produced a local television program, “Due Process,” which featured respected public figures and lawyers who shared their perspectives on the latest legal developments. In light of this work, he received an Emmy Award and a 50-Year Gold Pin from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Alongside these feats, Mr. Baskin authored the Michigan Child Custody Act and a personal protection order legislation assisting survivors of domestic violence. To attest to his success, Mr. Baskin received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan State Bar and an honorary doctorate from Central Michigan University. For 28 years, she served in the Intellectual Property Law Department and rose to the rank of Associate Patent Counsel for Johnson & Johnson until 2016. Prior, she was an Associate at Morgan & Finnegan and a Patent Attorney with Union Carbide Corp. Since 2016, Ms. Colby has served as principal of Pro Se, LLC, in which she coaches legal professionals and others to be more effective in communication. Likewise, she dedicates time to advocating for mental health awareness within the legal profession. Noting that nearly half of all attorneys experience symptoms of depression, Ms. Colby has conducted presentations about mental health in the legal arena. Ms. Colby holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, JD from the Albany Law School at Union University and MS in Organizational Management from the Fielding Graduate University. She sits on the board of trustees of the Albany Law School, Young Audiences of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, and is president of her synagogue.
