300 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TECHNOLOGY A ttracted to mathematics from a young age, Dr. Jagdish C. Agrawal attended Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in his native India, receiving a BS and MS in mathematics in 1960. Relocating to Ontario, Canada, he earned an MS in applied mathematics from the University of Windsor in 1966. Subsequently, he obtained a PhD in mathematics from Purdue University in 1968. After accruing several years in the field, he also attained an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University in 2002. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Agrawal began teaching as a professor of mathematics and computer science in Pennsylvania, as well as at Purdue University. While at Purdue, he served as chair of the Department of Computer Science. Shortly thereafter, he served as chief of the computer science division for the Army Institute for Research and Management Information before being employed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a professor and head of the computer science department in 1986. Maintaining those roles for four years, Dr. Agrawal also notably served as an instructor at Everest University Graduate School in Tampa, Florida, from 1999 to 2010. Throughout his career, he also dedicated time to the Georgia Institute of Technology as a supervisor of computer science, as well as to institutions worldwide, such as King Saud University in Saudi Arabia as a professor and the Institut Teknologi Tun Hessein in Malaysia as a consultant. Since 2007, Dr. Agrawal has been the chief executive officer, president, director and owner of Centracel LLC. Lending his expertise in computer science to other businesses in a consulting capacity, he specializes in software development. Additionally, he is the noteworthy author of “Empirical Foundations of Information and Software Science” and a co- author of “Applesoft Basic Programming,” alongside his daughter Alka R. Harriger.
