307 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM SOFTWARE DESIGNER, EDUCATOR (RETIRED) Katy, TX SYDNEY WADE POLAND, MS S upported by more than 50 years of experience in the computer programming industry, Sydney Wade Poland commenced his professional career in 1955 with Temco Aircraft Company in Dallas, where he served as a programmer for three years. Interested in the field from that point forward, he briefly served Chance Vought Aircrafts before being employed by Texas Instruments in 1960. Rising through the ranks from systems programmer and systems designer to senior system software designer, he departed from the prestigious company in 1998. Post-retirement, he was a teacher at the DSP Laboratory at Rice University between 2005 and 2007. Holding a BS in physics from Louisiana Tech University, an MS in mathematics from Texas Christian University and an MS in computer science from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Poland notably achieved 28 patents for such instruments as calculators and digital signal processors, among others. He has also excelled as an author of manuals and applications. To attest to his success, he has been highlighted in several Who’s Who publications beginning in 1999. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue enjoying his well- deserved retirement.
