Subsequently, he commenced his career working for a life and health agency founded by his grandmother, where he quickly learned he was not suited for that field. From there, his grandmother introduced him to a man from an adjusting firm and began working in claims. Mr. Croom thoroughly enjoyed the field, as he felt he was genuinely helping people in a time of need. Between 1989 and 2004, he went on to serve as a field and inside adjuster to various independent adjusting firms. Since 2020, Mr. Croom has served as the chief executive officer of Tri Star Claim Solutions, where he specializes in property and casualty claims handling. He has also excelled as the president of Croom Insurance, Inc., since 1989. Working his way up to his executive-level roles, Mr. Croom was the director of catastrophe operations for Vanguard Adjusters Group from 2017 to 2020, a contract commercial claims examiner for CNA Insurance in 2013 and the chief executive officer of Catastrophe Staff Group from 2009 to 2011. Earlier, he served as the national marketing manager to Four Seasons Claims from 2009 to 2010, the regional manager for Olympia Claim Service from 2008 to 2009 and a catastrophe storm manager for Allied American Adjusting from 2005 to 2008. Accruing more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Croom cites his most notable achievement was a three-year event in which he had 175 field adjusters, 17 reviewers and four managers during Hurricanes Wilma and Katrina. Notably, they successfully ran in excess of 50,000 clients in a 90-day period. He attributes his career success to empathy, along with his mentors Kelly Snoot, John Davis and Tommy Measles. To remain abreast of changes of his industry, Mr. Croom maintains affiliation with the Society of Insurance Professionals and the Executive General Adjusters Society.
