First excelling as a staff nurse in West Virginia, Texas and Colorado, she has lent her expertise to academia as an adjunct clinical nursing educator at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Retiring from hospital-based nursing administration in 2007, Ms. Ward then served as administrator in several local long-term care facilities, and most recently served as the administrator of Consulate Health Care of Sarasota beginning in 2005. Ms. Ward holds a BSN from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in counseling and guidance fromWest Virginia College of Graduate Studies (nowMarshall University), an MBA fromColumbus State University, and an AS in health services management and nursing home administration fromSt. Petersburg College. A certified legal nurse consultant, she is also an advanced certifiednursing administrator, nursing home administrator preceptor and adult living facility administrator. Attributing her success to her willingness to help others, Ms. Ward cites a career highlight to be serving as vice president of nursing at Venice Hospital. D ennisW.C. Wong has served Kaiser Permanente as a certified nurse assistant since 2003, where he also sits on the wellness, safety and unit-based team committees. Previously, he served on the new building and labor management partnership attendance committees. Certified in surgical processing, he also excels as a licensed vocational nurse at BrightStar. Having accrued more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Wong found his passion for the field while taking a nursing assistant course alongside his wife. Prior, Mr. Wong was involved in the painting industry, having worked for 34 years with Sherwin Williams, Glidden and Fuller O’Brien. Encouraged by his father to pursue education, he received an AA in marketing from Chabot College and a BS in business management from California State University. In addition, Mr.Wong has donatedhis time civically to literacy programs for children learning how to read. Likewise, he has attended surgical missionary trips to Guatemala and Ecuador, where he cleaned medical instruments. A noteworthy author, he wrote “The Apricot Outlook of Katherine Koon Hung Wong” in 2019. Lauded worldwide and translated into French, Mr. Wong intends to develop a film based upon his book.
