285 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT with his peers, and thus, he desired to delve into education to help others persevere through difficult circumstances – much like himself when he was a young adult. Attending Olivet Nazarene University, he received a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. From there, he obtained a master’s degree in management and a PhD in social work, both from Howard University. At the inception of his career, Dr. Buckley was a night worker in the operating room of Washington Hospital Center for 15 years. During this time, he began conducting missionary work in East and West African countries, as he became a certified minister at the Barbados School of Theology and an itinerary preacher. Since establishing himself as a prominent figure in America, he has served in myriad capacities since the late 1970s, including as the owner of the Brooklyn Senior Daycare, the chief executive officer of Comprehensive Care II, Inc., and founder and chief executive officer of Faith Mission Temple International, Inc. Throughout his career, Dr. Buckley has been recognized for his empathetic nature, his care for those who struggle with disabilities and his selfless attitude in providing shelter for the needy. Currently, he is in the process of planning and building a health care clinic in Liberia. He attributes his success to his mother, who helped him connect with others and instilled in him a sense of comradery with his fellow man. Married with two children and one grandson, Dr. Buckley is immensely proud of his grandson, who just completed his doctorate in public health at Harvard University; impressively, he is the first African American man to graduate from Harvard with this degree. Looking toward the future, Dr. Buckley intends to continue experiencing the growth and success of his career, emphasizing that he does not wish to ever retire. A native of the island of Antigua in the Caribbean, Dr. Rodwell O’Granville Buckley hai led from humble beginnings, and upon his immigration to the United States, mustered the strength and dedication to complete his high school education.
