Since 1967, Ms. Humphrey has excelled as a volunteer fundraiser for the Junior League of Boston, Inc., and since 1975, an events fundraiser for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Congruent to her present positions, Ms. Humphrey served as a member of the board of development of the Center House (now known as Center Club Boston) from 1981 to 1994, a volunteer fundraiser for the Smith College Club from 1976 to 1989, and a foreign rights sales representative for Little, Brown & Co. and the Hachette Book Group from 1960 to 1963. An alumnus of Smith College, from whom she obtained a BA in 1960, Ms. Humphrey co-chaired the 60th Smith College Reunion. Additional posts to her credit have included as a volunteer fundraiser for Bay Cove Human Services, Inc., director of education for Hawthorne Partners, Inc., chairperson of the Wayland Planning Board, and member of the advisory committee for REACH. Notably, Ms. Humphrey has flourished as an honorary member of the boards of events fundraising for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children since 1997 and was involved with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. She further served as an advocate for John V. Lindsay for Mayor in New York from 1964 to 1965 and a speechwriter for the Nelson A. Rockefeller Presidential Campaign from 1963 to 1964. Demonstrating professional versatility, Ms. Humphrey was licensed as a real estate broker in Massachusetts in 1978. Maintaining affiliation with the Weston Golf Club, she was selected for inclusion in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America in 2018. Married with three children and six grandchildren, she enjoys golfing, traveling, gardening and singing in her spare time. D elving into the nonprofit and fundraising sectors early on in her career, Diana Humphrey initially started out in the leisure industry as a fundraiser for golfing tournaments.
