The former chair and executive director of the capital campaign for the Feed Citrus County Food Distribution Warehouse, she was a past chair of the Homosassa Arts, Crafts & Seafood Festival. She was chair of the Christmas Parade of Lights on the River, chair of the Homosassa Historic Committee and delegate to the Citrus County Council. Ms. Toto has been awarded the St. Petersburg Times’ Woman of the Year, Homosassa River Alliance Warrior Award, Homosassa Springs Rotary Paul Harris Award, Altrusa Women of Impact Award, Citrus County Chamber of Commerce John Barnes Award, Citrus County Economic Development Council Award of Excellence, Key to the City of Crystal River, Tampa Bay LightningCommunityHeroAward, Association of Fundraising Professionals PhilanthropicWoman of the Year and Daughters of the American Revolution’s Woman in History Award. D iane Toto is the founder and president of the board of We Care Food Pantry in Homosassa, Florida. In her early career, she was president and founder of Sheltered Hollow Property Management Service. She was also founder and president of South Hampton Maintenance Service. Instrumental in writing maintenance costs for inclusion in the condominium complex prospectus for the Attorney General, she organized and headed disaster teams to clear roadways for emergency vehicles during hurricanes. In 2004, Ms. Toto founded the non-profit We Care Food Pantry. We Care started with Ms. Toto and friends distributing food out of their vehicles to those in need, when she realized how vast food insecurity was in her area. We Care has grown to distribute over three million pounds of food per year, the largest food distribution warehouse complex in Citrus County. While her focus will always remain on Citrus County, she has forged partnerships in Hernando, Sumter and Marion Counties.
