SIMI SURENDRANATH MASSEY A s founder and president of Mission of Hope International since 2006, Dr. Simi Surendranath Massey is responsible for running various philanthropic programs to better serve her community. Alongside this endeavor, she excels as a televangelist on a weekly television program titled “The Master’s Mission,” which airs across the globe, as well as a mentor for the Global Medical Mission Alliance. Always interested in the nonprofit sector, she was inspired by her parents, who both valued the efforts of other humanitarians. Drawing upon an MBBS from the Christian Medical College, MS in gerontology from Saint Cloud State University andMS in health service administration from Strayer University, Dr. Massey also dedicates her time as a medical professional. T he founder of Hero’s since 1995, J. Paul Montgomery is a nonprofit executive, military officer and author who has accrued decades of experience in his fields. Located in Austin, Hero’s is a nonprofit organization that aids in the exposure of any at-risk youth to community heroes, thus providing positive role models. In 1959, Mr. Montgomery enlisted in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of E-7 prior to his military retirement in 1980. He was in the top two percent of recruiters in the U.S., gaining a recruiting percentage of 160 percent. During his military tenure, he was deployed to Vietnam, where he directed combat operations. As such, his unit was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for going above and beyond the call of duty, along with numerous military decorations, including a Meritorious Service Medal. Mr. Montgomery is a noted author, having published his book, “Mama’s Black Child: A Veteran’s Memoir” in 2013. “Mama’s Black Child” is an autobiography detailing his early life in Florida and his military ventures, as well as the discrimination he experienced as a Black man from the 1950s through the 1980s.
