309 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TRANSPORTATION J oining the United States Parcel Service as a young man, Enoch Walden Love Jr. notably served the government service in myriad management positions for nearly 30 years. Upon his retirement, he dedicated his time to pursue one of his lifelong loves – drag racing. Notable for being the only Black individual in a professional category of drag racing in his region, he subsequently retired from the hobby after witnessing an accident. During his tenure, he strategically coached a drag racing team without the necessity of sponsorship for eight years. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, Mr. Love began volunteering his time to a proprietor who previously owned a trucking company. Discovering its financial instability and desiring to prevent its failure, he purchased the business. Since 2012, he has been the chief executive officer of Enoch Love, Inc., a privately owned trucking and logistics company. In his position, he oversees a team of dispatchers and drivers spanning across the Greater Richmond region. Mr. Love attributes his success to his parents’ support and encouragement to pursue his dreams to the best of his ability. While his career has been filled with highlights, he cites being appointed by the Governor of Virginia to be on the lottery board as a crowning achievement. Likewise, he has enjoyed serving as chairman of the board for his local homeless service provider. He has also found great joy in developing his own business from four employees to 10 employees in just eight years, noting that his company has seen significant revenue and an expansive client base. Desiring to diversify his business in the upcoming future, Mr. Love also intends to ease into retirement in five years’ time and turn the business over to his son. Living by the mantra, “Always be the best you can be,” he is renowned for his love for life and humankind.
