207 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Interested in radiology from a young age, Dr. Amy Schroder Bezold was influenced by her aunt, who was a physician. Dr. Bezold has always felt that the medical field had a community service focus, and she has always possessed an innate curiosity about the human anatomy and physiology. Additionally, she was inspired by her grandmother, who said, “It is important to make the community a better place.” Receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Missouri at Columbia, Dr. Bezold went on to earn a DO from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A. T. Still University-Health in 2013. Since receiving her medical degree, Dr. Bezold has excelled as a radiologist and family physician at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She attributes her success to her empathy, which has helped her understand her patients on a deeper level, including what they want, how they feel, and with what they require help. Throughout her career, she has always enjoyed helping her patients overcome their medical issues and has exhibited continued effort in making her patients feel comfortable. As a radiologist, Dr. Bezold enjoys helping as many people as she can per day with their imaging, and also spends time as a family physician. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of graduating with her medical degree in 2013. Additionally, she feels that reading about and hearing her patients appreciate her time and energy into making their lives better to be the most rewarding aspect of her career. She has always found the profession of medicine to be very fulfilling. Looking toward the future, Dr. Bezold intends to delve into medical education and begin teaching the next generation of physicians as an adjunct professor. She would also like to spend more time in research while helping the medical community move forward in innovation, technology and progress. Married to her husband Samuel, they share two children, Elise and Jonas. In her spare time, she enjoys running, and notably completed her first marathon in Chicago in 2019.
