39 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Kansas City’s KWKI, and the following year upon his high school graduation, he was accepted into the Model Cities Radio Talent Center Program. Leveraging his affinity for media and early experience with radio, he graduated from the Program, and shortly thereafter, served KPRS. Over the course of the next five decades, Mr. Hamilton’s renown became known throughout Missouri, and today he is recognized as a radio personality, podcast host and disc jockey whose specialties include New Jack Swing, funk and R&B. His prestige as a radio artist brought him to serve at several radio stations across the Midwest, and in 1984, he aided in the launch of one of the first Cable FM stations, first CBLS (City’s Best Looking Sound) Minneapolis, later known as WR&B, for whom he later served as a program manager and on-air talent. With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Hamilton now serves as the host of the New Jack SwingBeat ReVue on KFAI-FM in Minneapolis, a two-hour weekly show that showcases his musical specialties. Attributing his success to his motivation to achieve greatness and faith in God, he has been recognized for his legacy by the Slam Academy, who named a scholarship in his honor. Likewise, Mr. Hamilton received a Special Recognition Award from the Minnesota Black Music Awards in 1989 in light of his prowess for media and communications. Living by the motto “Work smarter, not harder,” Mr. Hamilton intends to continue serving the Minneapolis area with his broadcast shows in the near future, as well as aid the next generation of talented radio professionals as they build upon their own careers. In his spare time, he enjoys partaking with the Twin Cities Cadillac Club. An acclaimed media personality with more than 50 years’ experience in radio and other broadcast media, Larry “Spider” J.
