223 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine D r. Haruko Kazama is a certified science teacher of junior and senior high school students in Japan. To prepare for her fruitful career, Dr. Kazama earned a Bachelor of Arts from International Christian University in 1968. Shortly after earning her degree, she made a name for herself at her alma mater, beginning her tenure by imparting her knowledge as an assistant professor. During her time in that position, she earned a Doctor of Science from Osaka City University in 1977 and continued to advance at the institution, obtaining positions as an associate professor, professor and councilor. Additionally, Dr. Kazama served as a lecturer in the science program at NHK from 1982 to 1983, a visiting fellow at the University of Liverpool from 1985 to 1986, and as a part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo from 1995 to 2000. She has also been a visiting research fellow at Australian National University since 2014. Dr. Kazama is active in her professional community and maintains membership in the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. She has also been an examiner for the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation since 2010 and an examiner and committee member for the Japan University Accreditation Association since 2007. Dr. Kazama’s industry affiliations include the Japanese Society for the Chemical Regulation of Plants, the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists, the Botanical Society of Japan, and the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB). In recognition of her career achievements, she was awarded a grant from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and featured in the 28 th through 33 rd editions of Who’s Who in the World.
